I joined B4 2 years ago and now I’m a senior. This job is so hard on me mentally and physically. I had a mental breakdown in the last busy season. The only way I managed to take some time off was catching Covid. I finally reached out to mental health resources the firm offers but I keep falling into lows. Now I’m feeling mentally broken again for this spring and I don’t know if I can hang on more. Am I crazy for just wanting to quit right after 4/15 to step away from PA for a while? With no job?

Where do you find the time to get everything done in the day when you have multiple partners, associates and equity partners that interrupt you and want things turned around immediately while simultaneously working on deadlines? I feel like I’m the only one that can’t manage a 70+ case load without letting someone down. I constantly have to say “Can I do this tomorrow?” Etc. I don’t even have time to bill on the clock. I work until 7p at least every night. Top 10 family law firm.

After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Or "Maybe in 6 months!"

I'm testing SPHR in June. Any advice for securing the type of role I'm aiming for?

Went from a big firm to work for a smaller firm. The people in the smaller firm are protective of their work and are good by their work too. I no longer feel chaos or stress. I am treated with respect and my schedule is more normal. I am even working more billable hours than before, but it feels like a seamless experience. I don’t work then past 5pm or anything out of the ordinary for this time of the year. I am so grateful!

Hi fellow PMs, Question for the group: has anyone here made the switch from being a creative agency PM to a digital producer or digital agency PM? I.e. going from managing creative projects like TV to managing website builds/UX projects. If so, what was the transition like and what helped you get your bearings in the new environment? I love my job in special education, the job may bring quite a bit of stress and exhaustion but nothing compares to the stress of the related service team. OT, PT, speech, BCBA, social worker, etc etc is really what’s killing me this year. It is 23 days into the school year and the team members all make different plans and as a result, nothing is being accomplished. And if paraprofessionals follow ie what OT says but not PT, it cause so much unnecessary conflict!
