I studied for an hour per weekday and about four hours each weekend for four weeks.
If you scroll and see another one of my comments E1 I explained how you can take the test without the requisite experience
I used Larry Greenblatt’s YouTube series (watched a few times, listened whenever driving over and over again). Used the 11th hour cissp book. Tested a couple of hours a week on the CCure web site. Scheduled the exam when I was hitting 90% on all domains. Chatted with a buddy who failed the test recently - he has skipped the practice tests and felt it cost him the exam.
Read the first two domains from a prep book very carefully a few months before, then studied 11th hour cissp the night before and passed
1 week flat out, about 70 hours, vomit in the test very next day
For me 14hrs continuous the day before exam. Used 11hr hour CISSP. Great book
Can you take the test without having the necessary job experience?
Yes, you will receive the CISSA (associate instead of professional), and when you get the requisite number of years experience it gets automatically bumped up to CISSP
Took a boot camp in December, studied about two hours a day during the week plus about 4-5 per weekend day for about 8 weeks, took the test in early February and passed after 100 questions.
I did all self study (no class). Got a couple of the main books (11th hour, etc) that included LOTS of practice questions, and I watched all of Kelly handerhan’s videos on Cybrary which follow along with the chapters. I studied an hour per weeknight and 3-4 hours every sat and sun for about 6 weeks. In total I think I did about 2400 practice questions, and several timed practice exams
Took a boot camp, ate some adderall, passed after 117 questions. Didn’t really study but I did watch 3 seasons of Madame Secretary that week tho Also went to school for it so that helps.
Just trying to see how feasible it would be for my situation ATM. It's obviously a big commitment and I want to make sure I know what I'm getting into before I jump into it
P2 yes you can but you would be considered an associates of ISC2 until you meet the requisite amount of experience. Once you meet that you can begin the endorsement process to become fully CISSP certified
Going to echo the 11th hour book, read the domains I felt weakest in the day before the test. So 4 hours maybe, yet I've been doing this a while.
5 day boot camp plus an hour or two of talking through the exam guide every evening with another boot camp student. Passed in 100 questions .
Where can we get 11th hour CISSP?
Just look for Eric Conrad on Amazon
Took bootcamp. Two months of studying
Do you recommend I take the CISSP if I haven’t ever been on a cyber project but am looking to make the switch into cyber? What is a CISSA? How many years of experience will I need to have it be a CISSP?
Start with the Security+. It's the basic cert that will give you the overviews of cyber security. The CISSP has an experience component of 5 years in security, so you'll need that to get the full cert. The CISSA is the associate "cert" which says you passed the test but don't have the experience yet.
