I was hired on with a company at the same time as my male coworker. We work the exact position, different projects.
I asked him flat out what his salary was when he hired on. His salary is at minimum 15% more. He’s never had a raise.
Neither one of us had any experience in this specific position but he didn’t even have experience in the field, which I did.
I requested a performance and salary review because it’s my annual review time anyway. Best way to address this? Also applying elsewhere.

I currently work at a medium sized firm and have about two years experience in personal injury litigation. The billable hours and lack of work life balance are really getting to me and I am looking to switch to something else out of litigation, preferably in house. When did you decide to get medicated? I have what I’d call “high functioning” depression and anxiety. See a therapist and all, but still deal with lows that seem hard to overcome for weeks on end - losing interest, hard to focus on work, sleeping difficulties, etc. Hard to tell when to make that decision!

Finally had my busy season cry after the staff told the team that he put in his two weeks. I'm crying because 1. We are so screwed and 2. why don't I have the courage to do something like that.
I'm turning 29 this year and usually a stone-hearted bitch but never failed to cry during busy seasons. I think it's time to get out.
