Tips on managing an extremely toxic workplace? In PE ops and am trying to make it to March to get my bonus but I am constantly receiving disrespectful and sometimes downright rude emails from the top with little to no support from my managers.

If you are really determined to stay then I would just consider looking at work as purely transactional until you get to what you want there. You want to be rude and disrespectful, whatever, I am just here to get my money and move on. Always really frustrating that some people cannot act professionally.

Thanks. I’ve tried to adopt that mindset but somehow the emails seem to continue to escalate in disrespect. I’m actively in the job search but my lease is up early next year, so quitting without a job lined up before I line up an apartment is the tough spot

I’m glad you’re looking for something better. It’s really the world we live in now. Most people are downright difficult. With no support it’s pretty much never going to change. Accept where you are and let that frustration continue to motivate your future endeavors.

If you are interviewing to leave for a new company, you may be able to negotiate a sign-on bonus to make up for leaving before you would receive the bonus from your current employer. Just wanted to throw that out there in case you hadn’t already considered it.

Been on a project for 2 weeks and thinking it’s not for me. The manager is kind of rude when I ask for help/direction, but he always says to ask if things are uncertain. He always has this condescending attitude and just keeps telling me that he expects more of someone at my level, C. I just keep feeling anxious that I’m not meeting expectations and feel reluctant to ask for help. Anyone in the same boat?

Looking for advice:
My dept has 2 directors. One is so rude. The other ignores the issue. The previous HR director told me to report any issues because she was building a case (not appropriate info to share, I know). She's since left and there's a new HR director. This rude guy has recently sent me several very rude things through email and I'm debating how to handle it. Is it worth it to talk to HR? Im worried it'll just make things worse since none of it is "wrong", just rude and insensitive.

I love my job in special education, the job may bring quite a bit of stress and exhaustion but nothing compares to the stress of the related service team. OT, PT, speech, BCBA, social worker, etc etc is really what’s killing me this year. It is 23 days into the school year and the team members all make different plans and as a result, nothing is being accomplished. And if paraprofessionals follow ie what OT says but not PT, it cause so much unnecessary conflict!
