Today I had a managerial round interview in IBM. I had already given tech round and HR asked for docs.

I have 2 YOE.

In managerial round, after taking interview the interviewer says that whatever I'm doing in my current job is fantastic and he will have discussion with his team. But they are looking for a Lead role and experienced person.

They had my Resume, didn't they already knew that I have only 2 YOE and then they give this reason.


Why did that happen, I'm not able to figure out.

I want to emphasize in my resume that I defend major corporate entities, including Fortune 500 companies. What is the best way to word this on a resume (without sounding obnoxious)?

I have an offer for $130k for a senior attorney position in a boutique L&E firm. Also have a recruiter who thinks she can get me into another for $150-170k. Both are more than I’ve ever made (Denver, 17 yrs of experience but completely different practice areas). Any tips for countering the $130k offer for more using the other potential offer while not risking a complete withdrawal of the current offer? I’ve never been in a position to bargain my starting salary so this is all very new to me.

I interviewed for KPMG on 11/15 for a Senior role and the HR emailed me on 11/16 that everyone liked me but they think I should be hired as an Experienced Associate. I had a call with the HR on 11/17 wherein we discussed about my salary expectations and the HR said he will get back in a day. It’s been more than 10 days and multiple follow ups but still no response. I don’t think I was rude while talking to the HR, I just told my current salary and asked for min. that no. Did i miss the chance ?

Is it common to negotiate software engineer salary at smaller companies? I know it’s common at FAANG, but what about for companies with around 200 engineers? I have a counter offer from my current company and on-site interviews scheduled for end of July with google and Amazon, but I’d prefer to go with the smaller local company if I can negotiate the salary (from offer letter) up another 5% or so.

I cleared technical round and during final call with HR, my salary expectations were higher as per HR.

My current CTC is 9lpa, skill-IAM and Java, YOE-3. I asked for 14lpa, best they could give was 11lpa. I know I asked a lot.
