Tried to renew my driver's license while H1B extension is still being processed. I have letter from my employer stating my legal status is good for 240 days and receipt showing extension application submitted. Still got denied at the DMV. They said I need the new I 797. Anyone else experienced this? I am based in NJ and looking for advice to navigate this situation to get my DL renewed.
