He can't keep all of his promises. He's officially a politician now.
He isn't king.
I'm sure trump wants a lot of things...
@Senior Manager 1 -- need I remind you:
Republican Legislative Branch
Republican Judicial Branch
Republican Executive Branch
Translation: Checks and balances hardly exist for this president!
He better really make America great again because he has a green light for every initiative he decides to take.
All you can hope is that Congress is way more intelligent than Trump which isn't hard to do.
That's not good as it reduces our options too. Other countries will put forward similar restrictions to citizens/residents from the US
Most sources say he's left & right when it comes to H1B talks, and he's more concerned about illegal immigrants, so at least that gives us H1B visa holders some hope 😶
^ I agree with KPMG 1. I researched H1B visas election night around midnight when shit was hitting the fan. It seems the Carrot man is for legal immigration. He will not get rid of H1B visas. He may also give in to Silicon Valley's push to increase the yearly quota/cap
Well if it goes completely off track, the legislative branch can go blue in two years
@pdubs3 this is very very true, I also think the GOP is going to need to do a lot of rebuilding and reframing their visibility because I think there is going to be a major political retaliation to this election
@pwc2 need I remind you: not every republican loves all of what trump says.
We are also forgetting that the Dems have 49 senators. GOP does not have a filibuster proof majority. I'd expect Warren and Sanders to use the same filibuster tactics the GOP used should the GOP try to do anything too radical.
I hope that Trump doesn't get rid of immigration as we know it...but if he does...will our wages rise?
It will be interesting to see if trumps "coalition" will ever come out again for future candidates, or if this was more or less a one off result.
^my opinion too. Definitely will expand H1b1.
^Cool silver lining
There have also been ideas to force companies to pay people on work visas more so they're incentivized to hire Americans.
^ sound good to me.
