Sounds like a gay bathhouse without the sex
I think if it was a coffee bar that had different rooms with different benefits. You could also do a salt room, a room with high oxygen, & one with a sound bath. I love the idea but as an employee I wouldn't want to be under the light all day. It would be great in Boulder, CO., Taos, NM. & Sedona or Flagstaff, AZ..
That’s a good idea too
I’m a health oriented consumer but definitely don’t think the ambience of red light in a coffee shop would keep me in there. That being said, it could be your secret weapon as it would allow for people to quick rotate out. Would mean you probably wouldn’t be able to keep the “worker bee” crowd interested but there may be a niche if you’re in NY/LA/Miami
Idk what infrared lighting does for health, so you'd probably need to explain it to a decent number of people.
Chief
Depends on the quality of the coffee and what else you are selling.
Some protein bites, fresh pressed juice
I consider myself a healthy person, but that would not be a selling point for me. Quality of product, price, location, and overall atmosphere would be more important to me

Isn’t infrared invisible? Or would this be like the red light / infrared combos?
Rising Star
I actually love the idea, but most consumers do not understand the benefits of red light therapy.
Assuming someone is going a few days a week, sits there for just 10-15 minutes while they enjoy their coffee, they’d get really great results after awhile.
Ok maybe this idea isnt landing hence the research. Thanks all!
Infrared saunas and related use of infrared light is very niche. I’m not sure how well the concept translates to a food/drink environment.
That would be… weird. Would it be hard to see as I order my coffee? What do I do as I drink my coffee? Seemingly not work as it would be hard to look at a screen. If it’s quick in and out, would I be in there long enough to actually get the health benefits of exposure?

What I like about the idea is that if you’re only there a few days week and for only 10-15 minutes, you’ll definitely see benefits.
This ain't it, chief. Move on to the next idea. I'm sure you already know how the majority of restaurants/bars fail in general, adding an extremely niche demographic on top of it... It's just not gonna work.
if this is for general IR / NIR health and beauty benefits, you can get too much and negate the positive effects. as such, I probably wouldn't visit a place that just exposes me willy nilly.
even without this risk, I probably wouldn't visit tbh.
Thanks for all the feedback! What if it was more juice / elixir focused and you had a membership? Appreciate the input from Accenture1!
I think if you made it so the exposure was more controlled, it would likely be more attractive as a concept. I walk by an infrared sauna on my way to work and have been curious about it. Even being somewhat health conscious, I don’t really know if it is worth the trouble to go out of my way for. If you are going to Barry’s, you know the duration is set and it will be hot and you dress for that experience and are perhaps more in the zone for an infrared light treatment. Any space you design would need to accommodate that people coming off the street may need to prepare for the treatment.
I visited a Barry’s and was surprised how popular it was! But maybe people don’t want to move as much but still get the benefits
I have a Hooga panel with red and Infrarred light at home. I think too much exposure irritates the skin based on my experience. I spend much more than 15 mins at a café, so I would be careful. Plus people with Melasma can get worse with Infrarred light... I think it is either a Scam: wave length is not optimal to have any effect/ benefits so it is safe or too Risky: at the right length too much exposure can make some people's skin worse
Just sell high quality coffee and some grab and go boiled eggs and actual fruit. Impossible to find actually healthy snacks. Everything is processed these days.
I’d really enjoy it, but I know about the benefits of light . Sounds a cool way to socialize
