Good question! From an engineer’s point of view, I see many opportunities for hybrid positions. They won’t give you everything you need at once, but you can take advantage of the fact that, as a recent developer, you can provide useful insights into developers’ needs, especially since, in DevOps roles, other developers are essentially your internal customers. Just my two cents; let’s see what the recruiters say!
A cert can help you get noticed, but a hybrid role inside your company gives you real project experience. If you can do both over time, that’s usually the strongest path.
I would shoot for a hybrid rolls over the cert but it can’t hurt!
