Bain & Company Hi all, I am interested in making the move to the Middle East, however starting from august/September. What do you think are the prospects for the future in the region? Do you envisage a hiring freeze or are companies still going strong? Thanks!McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group Kearney Bain & Company

A scheduled time where the parents group doesn’t get together at all but instead gets to pick their kids up on time for once… or to take a nap….
I would do a parents night out where :
1) company would host an event offsite
2) you can drop off your kiddo (if you want)
3) you do whatever you want, not necessarily with coworkers
4) it would be free
My company (no longer with Ogilvy) hosted a speaker who discussed how to talk to children about mass shootings and how to help monitor their mental health/stress surrounding those events in schools… very well attended and people had lots of questions
This is brilliant. Do you recall the name or company the speaker was from?
A speaker on screen time/online safety would be good too. Like the work Dove is doing with Common Sense Media.
I would also do a parent lunch OUT. I’d like to connect and relax, maybe have a drink but still be home in time to hang out with my kid.
Many parents will not be comfortable dropping their kid with a random babysitter and other kids. Many kids just don’t do well with that kind of chaos. And you’d need a lot of sitters to meet the ratio of carers to kids. And insurance if it’s done in the office or at a home.
Most parents like things where they can bring their kid suit a time they already spend with their kid (so you are not messing with the house schedule). Show them off, do something cool with them. So maybe plan office trick or treating or a Saturday morning event where you bring in one of those wild animal groups or something. Or do an outing at the aquarium where you have a room with snacks and such (sometimes you can donut when it’s closed to the public- then you could have booze for the parents too).
Yes, parents want to drink and have a night out, but the logistics are so specific to each family that it’s hard to arrange. Some have strict bedtime routines. Some have kids of a wide age range, some don’t trust strangers, some know that going out on Friday with the group means that then they can’t golf on Sunday bc they get one free pass a week, etc.
AFFORDABLE and quality care programs for the very LONG summer months ahead. These are tough times for working parents, and that long summer stretch without school hours is super challenging—so we need resources to give our kids worthwhile, supervised and safe outdoor fun while giving working parents the day time work day to get their work done.
