take job with long commute or stay at b4?
Hi everyone, I have 2 years of experience in a service based industry as a Java developer, and I am eager to work hard and switch to a reputed product based organisation, but I am not getting proper time to study and practice data structures and algorithms, as I have so much to learn and understand things which are related to my project. Any suggestions would be appreciated and I'll try to inculcate it. Thanks in advance! Amazon Oracle Samsung Microsoft Cisco Salesforce Arcesium Uber
I’ve put myself up for L4 promo this cycle. Assuming I get it, what would be the best next steps to optimize for long-term growth/TC?
My understanding is that L5->L6 is extremely painful at Google. It may be easier to leave for a handful of years and gain managerial experience before returning.
L4->L5 is less challenging; however, I’m under the impression I can do this quicker at another company (if I leave after being freshly promo’d) AND get higher TC.

I have recently joined EY SaT group as senior consultant recently in Netherlands. I’m tripple masters in MS economics, MBA and MS business analytics. Have 4 YOE in different industries but no M&A experience specifically. Any ideas what company should be offering me? I’ll be working as expert on commercial due diligence, FDD and valuation teams and doing automation alongside. is it wise to demand higher salary or promotion soon after I have proven that I can work and do it better than most?EY

Depends. I know Someone that had recently joined and received a promotion on their first year end based on the client facing role.
There’s no set timeline for PDM promotions. It mostly depends on whether your project supports it. I started on Oct 2021 and got promoted from PDM Specialist 1 to 2 in June 2023. This is my on deck year for promotion to manager in June 2025.
Some folks skip from PDM Specialist 1 to Manager although I heard it’s a bit harder.
There is no official promotion year for PDM. If you're "on deck" for promo, it's not official. I had a coachee ask me about this and I confirmed with Michelle Reyes.
