Recently got a role at GCP as TAM (comp is pending) but I also got into bschool ; I was hoping to use bschool to transition into product management but I’m not conflicted as I got into my dream company. I see 3 options: 1, join GCP as TAM and forget about bschool 2, join the role but quit in several months to join bschool or 3, join google and hope bschool gives me a deferral. What would you do? Hi Google - I am requesting guidance!
I am prepping for my interview specifically GCA and open ended questions. I struggle to tell if the outcome should be talking through your process/steps (maybe for a question like - how would you go about determining program complexity) vs a specific solution such as create x new product, for x market by x date based on my assumptions. Is the desired outcome something I can clarify with the interviewer?

They’re basically all the same. $175k base regardless of location, bonus between $15-$30ish (firms vary a bit on upper end, by like 5-10k diff I think). Signing is $30, relocation depends on how far you’re moving, but all pay in the same range, retirement I think McKinsey is higher by a tad, but all are within $5k dif.
TLDR literally almost identical across all firms so choose based on which one you feel you like the most
They're almost identical. From recent offers:
McK
Base: 175k
Bonus: Up to 45k
Signing: 30k
Relo: 10k (coast to coast)
Retirement: 7.5% of comp
BCG
Base: 175k
Bonus: up to 25% of base (43.7k)
Signing: 30k
Relo: Started at 6k (coast to coast) but matched McK's 10k
Retirement: 5% of comp (goes to 10% at PL)
I know that I got that. But my point is that it’s very hard to believe that the next class is going to receive a smaller bonus.
I firmly believe that your class will get a bonus higher than what is in the contract as well, just the way I did.
Otherwise your total comp will be less than the total comp of the prior class which doesn’t make sense at all
Top for my class was 165+35+extra 20=220
Top for your class (w/o extra 20) = 175+35=210
I don’t think they will do that. I think that 20 was a step change that will stay for the future. But I guess we will only truly know In 11 months because McK doesn’t share bonus amounts until you really receive it.
I was a BA in 2016-17-18 before my MBA and never saw the following class have a higher TC than the prior one.
Thanks so much! I’m curious to know exact numbers of total comp if possible? I’d like to compare against Kearney which is typically paid less than MBB it seems...
McK increased bonus, it was up to 55k last year (2021) for those who graduated in 2020
