depends what you want to do. beach/sun - San Diego. amazing food and decent weather, shorter flight, did I mention amazing food - New Orleans.

If only there were direct flights from New Orleans to San Diego - would’ve done both 🥲

New Orleans for culture. SD for beaches.

Hi everyone! First time using this app. I always wondered, how are other IT help desk jobs? I’ll share how mine is.
I work at an MSP (Managed Service Provider) meaning we are the IT services for many other companies. It’s busy all the time and I get to experience all different types of apps, OSes, and almost every aspect of IT in this way. I make around 50k which is alright but its hectic as there’s too many tickets and not enough personnel. I heard this is common but I’m not sure.

Cisco

Pros:

- fairly decent place to work (from someone who worked with the Vancouver and San Jose offices). never met a blue badger (permanent employee) who had awful things to say.

- Ashley Goodall (their SVP, Methods & Intelligence) co-authored a brilliant book on leadership and people management called “Nine Lies About Work” that makes me believe they can be an awesome place to work

Cons:

- red badgers had low morale since they’re contract workers and can be terminated at any time

I’m sure others have considered this, I really feel burned out on my specific subspecialty. For the most part I do interventional pain management. I am midway through my career, but I cannot in anyway see doing this for the future, it just doesn’t feel like I’m making a difference. I’m honored to be a physician and to help a handful of people, but any suggestions on changing specialties mid life? I have perhaps 15 to 20 years yet to practice.. At my age either the guys are past their prime, divorced/ing and have to provide half their income to their first wife. Many with kids live on the same street as their ex wives so they can be close to their child. I'm not comfortable dating guys like that. On the flip side there are the ones that were never married, which by this age cont

I’m relocating to London and would love to hear recommendations on neighborhoods. I am looking for an “urban village” feel (small coffee shops, not very touristy, can walk a dog and stroller) with a budget of 3K for a 1-2 bdr. My commute would be into Soho. I am currently looking at Notting Hill, Chelsea, and St John Woods, but I won’t be able to visit before my move. Any neighborhood recs?

What's a good place to live to access both downtown and Argonne national lab in Lemont? I live on the far north side of Chicago now, but my partner got a new job and it would be an hour each way by car to commute for him. I work downtown along the red line. Looking for somewhere affordable, not interested in night life or anything but groceries and transit need to be 10 minute walk or less and be safe. Also prefer CTA over metra since my company has later night events. Thank you!!
