Hi fellow fishies!
Can someone please explain what is “SUPPLEMENTARY allowance” in my payslip??? It is the highest in my entire payslip, more than basic salary. Basic is lets say ₹7 lac annually and supplementary bonus is ₹7 lac 40 thousand.
Can someone please explain why this exists in my paylslip, is it good or bad from tax perspective and shall I ask my HR to decrease it???
Please help asap.

Doubtful. I am in the May CORe program, and only let Ross and Darden know about it. No response from Darden except to thank me for updating me and that I’m still waitlisted. Ross accepted me, so maybe it had some influence. Wharton wants people with tons of direct reports; and Columbia it depends on which program.
I was rejected from that same program earlier this year. Good luck, complete crap shoot. The course really is good, so I would say it is a great tool to prepare you for business school. I am former enlisted, with a slow career progression, so my mileage varies greatly from yours. As a military officer, you can basically fluff up your application and responsibilities to a level no NCO can that isn’t an E-7 or higher (which means my whittle e-5 counts for shit), which is why business schools eat that shit up. One of the other things holding even officers back from consideration is our income figures, we are significantly below the average comp for these programs, and accepting us brings down the averages, so competition is fierce for us poor military types. I make 85, average incoming for Ross this year is 260, so roughly 4x what I make.
I didn't even think about the average comp stats. I'm a CWO2, so definitely have a mixed bag of experience. Most of my experience was enlisted with minimal direct reports. That's why I was considering even doing the CORe Program to show pure effort and desire. What do you think gives us a competitive edge if any?
