What’s your current TC and what are they offering you?
I would definitely take the Amazon offer and even counter with $75 an hour. Definitely easier to network and get a loop interview as a contractor. Also you’ll get practical experience with LPs that interviewers typically have to fake.

Someone on my team started as contractor and is now a full time employee. I don’t think there are hard rules, just depends on team, role, etc.
I know a few contractors that got full time positions so it definitely is possible. Even if it doesn’t happen you’re still putting Amazon on your resume…
Started off as a contractor makes it easier to network with people within Amazon. While on contract, you can still apply for an FTE position with the company and loop. Regardless, as a green badge, you’ll still have to go through the loop, to become a blue badge. I started as a contractor last year and converted to a perm this year. Best “risk” I’ve ever taken.
