Was speaking to a Band 6 who said her mortgage rate changed twice before she could lock anything in. She said it like it was normal… then went straight back to chasing discharge targets. I keep thinking we talk about burnout like it starts at work. It does not. Anyone else noticing this creeping into team performance?

We all have life going on outside of work, so it can definitely be hard to separate the two, but you have to. If it’s creeping into your job and performance, that can be a slippery slope and needs to be addressed immediately.

It can be hard to balance all of the stressors but some people focus on work to help them get through the hard things outside.

Just found out that my favorite aunt, who claimed I was her “favorite” niece, chose to leave all her valuables to her other two nieces who never visited or called her once in the last ten years. My aunt passed away suffering from cancer last year and didn’t have her own kids. I was there by her side throughout her battle. I still wish I had done more, made her life easier. I probably sound petty, but a part of me is forcing me to re-evaluate every interaction I ever had with her.
