Was told I would be receiving an offer letter after having a call this morning with a company I interviewed at but still haven’t received the letter yet. Is it typical to not receive an offer letter immediately after being told I’m being offered the job? If so about how long should I allow to receive it? Only reason I’m wondering is because I’d like to give my current employer plenty of notice before I leave (3 weeks if I can)

I am 9 months pregnant and my firm offers 16 weeks maternity leave. Well, it just so happens that I was offered a job at a new firm, and they are flexible with start date but do not provide maternity leave (understandable since I don't even work there yet). Is it possible to accept the new job with a January start date, but not tell my current firm until a normal notice period ends, so I can keep mat leave? No payback requirements or anything. Would they know somehow?

Tax 🐠, need your help as my currently base salary is $155k ($5961 per paycheck for 26) and I have filled w4 as married filling jointly (total household income $240k) with 2 kids. What should be my federal tax withheld per paycheck as right now my new company is taking $847 for federal withholding and $335 for OASDI and $220 for nc state tax. I just switched jobs and in my older company federal tax withheld was not this high with base $115k. Does it look ok to you as I think it’s high?
