We added a single occupant bathroom in our office back in 2018. It’s accessible and anyone can use it. That was an easy enough solution.
If you have the dough, you should put in several small individual bathrooms, each equipped with their own sink, toilet and mirror. In my opinion, these are the best. I hate sharing an entire bathroom regardless of the gender.
Hi! Can you explain further what the vision is and where the costs would be incurred? I’m queer and trans working in the corporate world so I’m happy to give input if I can!
I like the thought of adding one stall bathrooms throughout the building for anyone to use but I would not feel comfortable dealing with feminine hygiene next to a man with only an open bottom divider between us. Actually even being in a room with men with my pants down doesn't sit right - there are gaps in those stall doors. I know my husband would not be able to go #2 with women in the room.
My personal opinion? I don't really have a strong opinion. I personally don't think about bathrooms that often.
I think you should consider the constitution of your office. If it's something that the employees prefer, then it's a must. But generally I think it would just make people more uncomfortable and would come off as really tokenistic so wouldn't be worth it.
