Interesting. So you’ll both be new managers. What is concerning you

I think it’ll be easy for her to narrow down the fact she is the subject of this post...and can create an uncomfortable work env.

What office is this

NYC

@Manager 1, do you think partners are trying to take advantage of her network or she will really put her hand on the files?

@Deloitte 1, I didn't have my confirmation yet but already received the training from DU

Depending on what practice area they intend for her, I think they'll have difficulty succeeding. No cpa and no experience will make it very hard for her to lead a team.

We had someone like that. Lawyer. No experience. She talked a big game but had no substance and had tons of attitude and was useless. She moved to NY after she was fired...

If your hire has an ounce of interest and follows through, then there is a chance.

I’m new to Canada and currently working as a BA for the same company I worked for, in India. However, the workload is a lot after I moved here and the pay scale is comparatively low. I started job search and currently negotiating salary with an early stage startup for PM position. Problem is, they’re very keen on comparing my current salary and fixing my compensation rather than fixing it based on my performance in interviews and their budget. Is this normal practice here in Canada?

Still I am having doubts because I think he isn’t very “intellectual”. To be clear, he’s intelligent! He is a great STEM role that requires an advanced degree. We share a love of reading as well. However he is not really interested in world affairs, does not follow the news closely, does not have a strong grasp

I’m hiring a Technical Recruitment Lead for our team. We’re a health technology company with offices in Canada & the US. We’re nearly 900 employees and reached 700Mil in revenue this year. Our sights are set on reaching unicorn status in the next few years 🦄. We’re privately held with a possible future IPO so it’s a great time to join at the right time if you’re interested in helping fuel the growth to take a company public.

Is it a red flag as a candidate to ask if a company offers maternity leave? I was recently laid off, so I wasn't expecting to lose my job. We're planning on trying for a baby in the next year or so, so it's really important to me that my next job offers paid maternity leave.

The issue is that it's so rarely advertised on company web sites, but ultimately better maternity leave would sway my decision for a job. Is there a way to ask this tactfully? Or without raising red flags?
