PwC 🐠, I interviewed with the firm about 6 months ago for a Senior Associate position on the forensics team. I wasn’t extended an offer because the position was given to an internal transfer, at least what I was told. I tried reaching out to the recruiter I worked with last time but the email bounced back and wouldn’t be delivered. I was hoping to see / reapply if the group still was looking for seniors.
In your opinion, would it be best to reapply as a cold application?

I was in your shoes about a year ago. Start planning your move ASAP and leverage your experience reviewing documents, reconciling financial information, manipulating data sets, etc
What did you exit to?
I’m guessing you’re at EY? Why not just switch to a forensics practice at a different firm? Should be pretty easy to get your foot in the door and from there pickup experience on other kinds of projects that involve very “traditional” finance/accounting skills/opportunities: financial modeling, valuation, forecasting, etc.
Cheer up. Senior is the most needed level in the market. You can easily transfer to S&T, Audit or FAAS depending on what you are looking for. Work there and reassess at the split. Talk to your counselor and get it in process before the holiday break and it will happen. Good luck.
Do you want out of government work completely or just out of federal claims?
Would your current firm let you pivot to another BU? My firm encourages transfers from one unit to another to keep good people. I’m eyeing transferring from public sector to our cannabis sector.
Don’t leave! Lol jk. You are correct.
Just curious - what school did you go to?
