This guy is an absolute tool. But beyond that - he happens to be 100% wrong. I actually did everything he suggested, and it took one reorg to tank my whole career. I was loyal. The company? Not so much. Wish I’d chased the bigger packages and answered more recruiter calls.

I feel this! I ignored so many good opportunities thinking I was safe and secure in my role, and it all turned sideways.
Be grateful?? For being exploited and harangued by people like him? Nah, hard pass
Pro
I thought the same. Imagine being in the same family as that jerk.
I don’t want a job, I need a job to keep a roof over my head. Dah!
This guy is delulu
"Grateful" to my employer for a job? No. I work fory mg employer, and the employer pays me. That is the nature of our relationship.
Would help if companies were loyal too but oh well
Ugh. Mentor and multiple author of bestselling… he could have saved us all valuable business time by just saying: Hey jobseekers, SUCK IT!

Not cringe. 80% of what he’s saying in this post makes sense.
Someone with those views who genuinely believes that is a danger to whoever is working under them. That type of thinking hurts workers and can cause them hardship and creates a bad environment for them.
In other words, while an opinion is just an opinion, if it’s held by someone with power over others, it has the potential to hurt workers around them

The TLDR version of this:
"Start licking that boot and stop complaining you don't like the taste of dirt and leather"
The 1950s through 70s of corporate "trust" and "gratitude" is a long way back in the rearview, and it isn't returning anytime soon, Rob.
Pro
Nah, do the opposite- waste companies’ time and resources.
Whenever I get junk mail with a return envelope, I send them junk mail from other companies.

If cave dwellers were interviewing for jobs, this kind of stuff would be going on. Get over it, it is what it is.
Sounds like he wants you to STOP looking out for your best interests and START looking out for the best interests of the company. Ever heard of salarymen? Office Space? There's a reason that's in the rearview here.
Being loyal got me laid off with nothing after 20 years of service. I'm all about me now.
