Be the CD you wish you had when younger.
Be hard on the work and gentle on your people. Hire people who think differently than you. Learn to sell the work well to clients, and defend the work internally too. Remember that your job is now to get the best out of other people. You’re still going to be coming up with ideas, but you now need to lead and inspire. Take your leadership role seriously, and invest in leadership training. Always consider the possibility that you might be wrong, and be willing to admit it when you are - but be decisive. A bad decision is always better than no decision. Be available to your people. Be a good time manager, and don’t let your lack of time management waste time or put a burden on your people. Nobody should be waiting around to hear back from you or get time with you. Above all know that this is the best job in the entire agency. And you’ve now got it - congratulations!
