What are director/principal level interviews like at Big 4? Anyone able to share some insights?

Just got an offer as a management consultant with a government procurement firm. Very disappointed in the offer, but ready to make the jump from public to private. Would this be a fair move to get into consulting? I also have a couple more interviews and and a referral to Deloitte. Insight would be appreciated!

I applied to a job at KPMG and did the first two rounds of interviews, general interview, then case study and competency. Never before have I had such a positive feedback at the end of an interview of the 2nd, both said really like me, I did well etc.
It's now been 3 weeks since the interview and I still haven't heard back from the team other than the odd HR email saying they are following up with them. Is there something going on internally, I.e hiring freeze in the London office atm?

Today, I received an invite for a coffee chat with a consultant. I’m of course going to do both, but the emails make it seem like they are almost two separate paths/disconnected processes. Newbie quick question - is the 1% calculated based on rents collected, NOT including your own mortgage payment if it’s owner-occupied?

Ex: looking at a 3 family for $500k, let’s say rent is $1800/each for the 2 units, hence 3.6k month, but I live in the other. How do i apply the 1% rule here?

The general rule of thumb for a mortgage is 28% (primary residence) of gross income. My firm switched up their process and now instead of nice size raises it’s large bonuses. So getting increasing my gross income doesn’t really change unless I include my bonus which is obviously a variable. Is their a recommended approach for these scenarios? Maybe use agi on tax return instead of gross income?

In this market would you decide to either use the money you have for down payment on a home, invest it stocks, something else, or just hold?
