1. Sitting to standing desk
2. Ultra wide curved monitor
3. Adjustable Monitor arm
4. Just ordered an ergonomic mouse

5. Upgrade to a quality ergonomic chair
6. Buy and customize a mechanical keyboard for fun but I also just really want a tactile keyboard
- Mousepad and keyboard pad with wrist support
- an external monitor - literally one of the **best** WFH investments I made.
- seat and back cushion attachments
- good lighting (I always get compliments on how well lit my space is on virtual calls). I have a desk lamp and floor lamp with adjustable heads.
- fake plants from Ikea lol.
- a candle wax melt warmer. I don’t use traditional scented candles with wicks, so this is a great in-between.
- ottoman to store blankets for when it gets cold.
- super underrated but highly recommended: an underdesk foot rest. Some of them come in wood and fabrics. Such a great investment to reduce pain when sitting for so long.

You’re welcome and happy decorating!
I tried recreating some of the client services I would receive in-person like snack jars, fruit infused water, “catered lunch”. It makes the ordinary feel special, and reminds me to take care of me. 3 years into WFH I go through long stretches of forgetting, and when I remember to make the effort again I realize how much it makes a difference.
I'll echo what others have said about proper monitors. I have a curved ultrawide and then a vertical monitor. The UW is for most of my work (word documents, browser for research, email, etc.) and I use the vertical one for overflow, reading pdfs, etc. It works for me, but I would look at what you normally are working on during the day and try to maximize your screen space for that. E.g., unless you do a lot of reading pdfs, you may not need the vertical one.
I would also say putting your screens at eye level is a major ergonomics win. That plus the UW has really helped me reduce headaches.
If you have a work issued laptop, then I suggest a laptop stand to make the screen more level with your eyes for better posture, as well as a wireless keyboard and mouse and extra monitor.
Decor... things that when you look at them they make you smile. Depending on the stress level of you job, that can be very helpful.

Just invested in a quality chair and so worth it.
Also, a nice sounding stereo or speaker is always going in the background for me when not on calls
Foot warmer under the desk
My cat would love this lol

Get the best wireless headset you can afford. This gives you the ability to get up and move around while on conference calls. I like Plantronics. They are great at noise canceling. I was on a call once and they were doing work right outside my window with a mini jackhammer. No body on the call could hear it.

What about a little cute picture of a kitten hanging from a branch and it reads.."Hang in there!"....Michael Scott
Cat tree near the desk. Being able to reach over and pet a purring cat during meetings can make a big difference in attitude.
I have two work modes: standing or reclining in my leather chair with feet on ottoman.
When my feet tire, I recline.
When my back gets sore, I stand.
It’s a dichotomy I really enjoy.
Deadbolt for the door.
This is a great post! I am hoping to transition into a remote role so I'm going to take tips from here too!
Here are some of my suggestions: a tiny snack section to discourage you from getting up and wandering into your kitchen when you need a break, helpful and practical reminder list to keep you productive, fun pens/supplies...
A fake plant. It has made my zoom calls so much better.
A 49” curved monitor and Logitech flow keyboard and mouse - allows me to have two different computers available - client and firm
Some things that (I don’t think) have been mentioned yet:
1) Good desk lighting. It’s not so important this time of year, but by October you’ll be very happy to have a good desk lamp. For about half of the year it’s dark when I log-on, and I love starting my day with a cup of coffee and the warm glow from my desk lamp.
2) An overstuffed chair/ottoman for a change of seating when I’m doing things like reading/writing reports. We just moved from a major city apartment where I had a corner of the living room for my desk into a whole house where I have a separate room for my office, and I love that I can have this kind of setup now!
3) A window next to my monitors! Being able to have natural light was a game changer when I started working from home (migraines stopped when I stopped working under fluorescent lights all day!), and it’s so nice to be able to see outside.
4) I hate clutter, so little clips to attach all of my cords/chargers to my desk, a wrap thing to contain the monitor/docking station cables, and a box to hold the surge protector and shove in whatever loose cables are left.
5) Since WFH can mean having to pay more for heating/cooling: a small, quiet, fan in the summer and a lap blanket and slippers in the winter to keep AC/heat costs down.

It would depend on your needs. I have two 27 inch monitors that hook up to each other secured by USB-C for the connection. I haven’t purchased arms for them but they are okay. Then I have 2 32 inch 4K monitors, one for AppleTV so always connected to news or other sources that may be handy. The other one has my personal laptop for school or cure pure boredom. I have a KVM so I can move around between all of the systems. The 4K’s are on an arm on each side of the desk. A stand up desk would be great. I do have a whiteboard for keeping track of important items. Oh, I also have a travel fan that has a battery backup that is also nice. A good headset and I have a gaming keyboard/mouse.
I have an adjustable desk with a portable treadmill underneath since I’m in meetings for 8 hours of the day. Needed a more healthy lifestyle and found this was the best solution.
We’re in the middle of a global Implementation that’s has had issues. So the first half of our days is planning and requirements with global teams and the afternoon is us teams. Our company is about 100k employees so it’s complex to the least. We don’t normally have this many meetings 😂
