What are things Designers can learn to set them apart from the crowd?

I am an Art Director (working in Advertising) and have studied UX/UI via internet courses. I'm thinking of learning HTML+CSS+Javascript to better bridge my knowledge and possibly move to a hybrid Web development designer role. The ultimate goal would be to work at Google as a visual designer/creative.
