Self defense
He’s a dumb ass for being there and also for bringing a rifle. But it’s a pretty clear case of self defense. Also the people who decided to attack someone carrying an AR15 were also idiots. Just overall stupidity all around.

I didn't know that one of the guys he shot also had a gun in their hand. Just found that out from the trial.
Is it any surprise that someone was shot when two dudes brought guns, then got into an altercation, then both pointed their guns at each other.
I agree lots of stupid going around. I even feel like the news coverage of it has been stupid.
We’re going to miss out on the schadenfreude of him having to experience jail time. Judge rigged it up nicely for the defense.
“Rigged” it? He’s the longest serving judge in WI, was appointed by a Democrat, is a registered Democrat himself. Certainly not a matter of partisanship. Please specify why you think he “rigged” it.
I haven’t watched the trial so I can’t say whether he should or shouldn’t be acquitted, but it seems as though once the trial started anyone who really followed it said it was self defense and he was innocent (with the exception of possible gun charges). The prosecution seemed upset when they surviving victim took the stand, so it seems like they are pretty aware that what he said favors Kyle. If that is the case, then I would lean towards he is probably innocent.
Clearly self defense and the prosecutor is lol incompetent.
Like this level of lol incompetent…

He did nothing wrong it was self defence
Well, it may be legally self defense at the time he pulled the trigger, but he did create a situation that was likely to result in conflict or violence. There's plenty of moral blame that can be assigned to him.
I made the unfortunate decision to watch much of the trial. It's concerning/maddening to see how lawyers (specifically the prosecutors) have no qualms in lying/embellishing to try to make the point. Sort of destroys any faith I had in the justice system.
The defendant is an outsider who crossed state lines with an illegal weapon! Oh he didn't and the weapon wasn't illegal as they did not object when the charge was dropped. Ps he lived like 15 minutes away and had friends and family that live there.
The only reason to point a gun at someone is to kill them! (Closing arguments prosecutor poses for a photo ops pointing the gun around the courtroom with finger on the trigger).
Why was your gun so big? You couldn't possibly be scared of a little pistol when you have such a big gun.
Everyone takes a beating sometimes! He should have let the little ragdoll guy catch him and beat him and was a coward for not engaging in a fist fight instead. If true then is using a gun in self defense ever justified?
That said, if you buy that him being there carrying a gun was provocation and voids self defense I guess you can ignore everything else.
He shouldn’t have been there in the first place, like many people involved.
His *crying* was kind of interesting.
Why do those people have clear video evidence of throwing stone at windows, burning cars/stores no being prosecuted? Why do those democratic leaders encourage and say that something bad shall happen not being traced and prosecuted? They publicly say those things are justified in the front of cameras, should all of them be prosecuted as encouraging violence? I don’t know why cops are not tracing those organizers behind those violent protest, instead of only January 6 deserving a Congress committee?
Those people ARE being prosecuted. But nobody cares about the guy that threw a brick through a window in a random city. This case sparked media attention because you had a kid cross state lines with a fire arm that he didn't legally obtain and he found himself some trouble.
Self defense. Chased by a pedo. Had a gun pointed at his head. Swarmed by rioters. Shouldn’t have been their but neither should have the people rioting. Not a crime to run towards fires to put them out and comparatively less so than it’d be to the people actually starting the fires.
