What are your thoughts on working 2 fully remote jobs at the same time? Is it feasible?

Unethical in a profession that prides ourselves on ethics

Ambitious and slightly sociopathic

Possible, but stressful. Avoiding conflicting meetings during the day is the hardest part since you cannot under any circumstances tell either one about the other job.

likefunny

Agree this would be the most difficult part. If you’re lower level and not involved with a lot of meetings they may not be an issue.

like

Yes, I do it and so do many others.

Wow that’s awesome! I wanna be like you when I grow up

You’ll need a good supply of edibles for stress management and a lot of coffee/adderall for energy to get through all that

Where is everyone actually finding these fully remote jobs? Everything I find wants 2-3 days a week in the office, or seems unclear on whether the job will be fully remote in the future.

like

I’m aware of that. Unfortunately it’s very rural. My firm has an office within a couple of hours away but my practice doesn’t have a presence there. And also I’ve been looking locally for about a year now.

like

Pretty sure I know people at the firm doing this based on their quality of work and time it takes to complete it

likesmart

At least in PA they have to bill their time and hypothetically get the work done eventually in order to bill it. I’m in industry now and have an employee that routinely misses meetings and is offline at odd times. I think he either had another job or a drug problem.

like

Only do it if you seriously need the money and plan to do it only for a couple-few months

like

Are they part time or 2 full time jobs? 2 part time, sure. 2 full time, no

like

2 full time, and 1 part time job was my peak.

No

Low billable, low pressure work in privacy law? Slowly realizing that as my boys get older, the money isn’t worth what I’m missing out on. Currently a tech litigation associate with lots of hearing, depo and trial experience (I’ve appeared on my own at hearings/depos) at a well respected firm. I have limited privacy experience despite being hired for that reason… Have my CIPM and CIPP/US /E and /C. Remote preferred; hubs is pilot with cool intl transfer opportunities. Money isn’t issue.

I’ve been applying and interviewing with no luck and multiple rejection as it seems hiring has slowed down. Anyone know of companies hiring? I would love to connect.

A report opened to me that they are having money problems and wants a raise. We are remote and they moved to a high CoL city. We gave an increase to help with retention 6mths ago. In my response, I helped mentor with best practices on how to ask for a raise professionally since I need to make a case to my Head on finances. But their performance has been avg and not seemingly worthy of another large raise within a short period of time. But how do I respond when they talk about personal finances?

I'm trying to figure out how to pivot out of my current job. My department is in utter chaos, which has just become completely unmanageable. If anyone knows of places I could apply? I'm not trying to reinvent myself as I do artwork on the side and would rather grow that business and get out of the chaos of fortune 500.
