Looks promising P1, will try that tomorrow
Myself :-). OP where are you trying to go? you want to maximize distance based awards in asia and zone based awards getting across the pacific. Consider using avios in south east asia which you can redeem on Malaysia Airlines (you'll spend less than using AA miles). Are you trying to business or economy?
2 people Starting from RDU, current plan is to do Hong Kong, then Siem Reap, Chiang Mai, and finally Phuket/ Phi Phi islands.
Probably want to do business class for the Trans-Pacific flight but otherwise we don't mind economy.
Is Malaysia airlines an AA partner? All the transferring points between partners is where I start getting really confused with award travel
@OP do you have a burner? I can help you out. I'm starting a blog soon for this kind of thing so would love to practice :-)
Malaysia airlines is a OneWorld partner. Seeing that you'll be in thailand mostly. I would either buy tickets for those flights or use Thai airways which is a star alliance partner (use united miles) but for one hour flights you'd be over paying with miles vs. a cheap 100 dollar ticket.
hong jong to bangkok = use miles on AA or avios. I would compare the redemption rates but most likely you'll come out ahead on avios. Cathay has a great product ! and you can get a non stop.
E3, I'm out and about right now but I'll absolutely post a burner later today. Would love help if you're seriously offering
Yea post the burner and I'll shoot you an email
