Hard to get up in the morning
Super sluggish throughout day
Headache
Want to take a nap real bad by 3 PM
I found switching from light blend to darker blend beans to help with the transition. But Godspeed to you for going cold turkey my friend
Switch to half caf and then decaf. I find the ritual and smell of coffee more important to me than the caffeine.
This. Used to have 2-3 cups a day and have replaced my 2nd cup with good decaf, and my third cup with a glass of water. The water in the afternoon works because I’ve found most of the time when I feel tired, it’s actually because I’m dehydrated (which coffee would exacerbate)
It sucks but it’s worth it, I used to have 4/5 a day but now kicked it, half caf, then decaf was how I transitioned off
Grogginess and headaches have been my main symptoms when I take breaks from it.
Might want to try switching to tea for a while to ease off it instead of cutting cold turkey and getting the full brunt of withdrawal
Takes about a week to get over it
Headache
Question - why is moving off of coffee a priority for folks? To my understanding it’s not bad for your health but I know some people can’t handle the acidity or get anxiety from the caffeine
Yep for me it was a combo of made me more anxious/got tired of the afternoon crash.
Also didn’t want to become one of those people that needs coffee from morning till night to function and was definitely on that path lol
Try decaf, or try herbal coffee (most have chicory in it) as a way to replace if you’re looking to consume less caffeine. I used to get a specific brand from Amazon, Teeccino, and it tasted great just like regular coffee. All the major grocery stores and even some gourmet ones will sell various brands of herbal coffee.
