There are a number of airline partners you can transfer Amex points to. I believe Singapore Airlines might give you the most value but BAs are pretty good too. If you follow "The Points Guy" on social media he explains the best use of Amex points to be transferring to airline miles. You can get roughly twice the value from them using them that way vs gift cards to Home Depot, Mortons, etc.
Just go into the travel rewards section of the Amex site and there is a link to transfer miles. It's more work than a gift card because you will want to research the flight you want to book with miles but it is worth it.
