My daughter loved the creator mode building things. My son liked the adventure, but there’s no there’s a lot of grinding, killing animals and the multiplayer, which is basically hide and seek it’s OK if you turn the chat off
what age? if below 7 a no no if over it’s optional with limits not to exceed an hr of supervised play
They are 7 yo twin boys so play together and not online. They do typically get bored after about an hour.
I haven't dipped into any alone time for the kids yet. I grew up on video games and love them but I'm still hesitant to let my kids go all in. They're 5 and 7 and we play Mario and Kirby games but only as a family and only on rainy nights.
Our 6 year old had an iPad issued to her last year in kindergarten (and the school has effectively zero controls on it), so we've somewhat given up on hoping she won't get caught up with computer games, so with that said we've let her play if she's done her chores for the day (on a big screen we can keep an eye on and interact with her about what she's creating). As long as you stick to local (not online) creative(as opposed to survival) mode, it really does feel pretty lego-esque and harmless
My kids (8 and 5) have not asked to play much except MarioKart. I’d let them play more if they asked, though.
The other kids at school have much more screen time. If I don’t let them participate in the same activities as their peers, such as Minecraft, I’m limiting them and alienating them as they wouldn’t be able to relate.
