50 billable is about 65 worked at least at the Manager and above level. People say bill what you work until directors are breathing down your neck
Or if you’re an associate it’s about 35 hours worked lmao
50 hours a week does not sound crazy on paper but is actually very tough in reality esp if u do it days in days out plus commute. Let says no weekend and no late friday so you basically have to do 11 hours from Mon to Thurs and 8 hours on Friday, meaning 9 to 6, commute home, eat shower and help out family if u have wife and kid, then u lock back it from 8 or 9 till 11 pm or midnight, everyday!!!

Yeah, if you have a family it adds up and the evening grind of juggling trying to be an involved parent, dealing with toddler BS and the evening email onslaught is tough. But for perspective, I’m very grateful we had kids post Covid where working late in the office is effectively a thing of the past.

50 hours billable is really tough.
Don't think I've ever charged 50 billable hours unless it involved some reclass of prior hours. In all honesty, that is tough if you're counting your working hours correctly. Expected utilization since M never went above 80% meaning any given week, I can charge 32 and be meeting expectation.
Not too bad considering that’s 10 hours per day which can be normal in our field
Might be just referring to charge hours
Yeah, 50 hours is a long week because there is always a couple of days where you have to pull in 12 hours of chargeable work and a certain day within a week and weekends aren’t usually common so 50 hours in a five day is quite a lot more than people think
