Cleared Accenture Skill interview by answering almost all the questions and received congratulatory mail for HR round and submitting all documents. Then after a week received a call from HR saying that due to some technical issue, the skills round will happen again and an online assessment was set up. In the assessment, questions which were not directly related to the profile were asked and then a rejection mail was received. Does this happen a lot?
Bain & Company I’m currently prepping for Bain & Company and McKinsey & Company interviews scheduled in the next 2 months. For those that interviewed with both, how would you suggest I tailor my preparation for each one? I understand McKinsey is interviewer led while Bain is the opposite. But other than that, is there anything else I should work on separately for each one?

Honestly, you know what's really refreshing in a student book? Seeing not just the concepts, but actual competent art direction. The basics.
Please, not just case studies. Print/poster is a great demonstration of craft and simplicity of ideas. And quick for CD/ECDs to review. Also don't use logos as the thumbnails for your folio pages. Each tile should be clickbait. Make us want to click into another project. Nine is a good number of pieces starting out. As long as they're great. Then some personal stuff is always interesting, if it's interesting.
All this, especially R/GA1's advice. No poetry and no personal blogs about your cat. Unless you once wrote something amazing, like that sorority girl a few years back who wrote that email to her housemates threatening to punch them in the dick, do not include it. I tried to hire that sorority girl btw. Can't remember where she eventually went. Amazing.
Sorry everyone is so abrasive and sarcastic when you're actually looking for advice! Try to get 6 pieces in your book, but don't stretch to get 6 if they aren't all solid. 4-6, no more. Show a variation in art direction skills (illustration, Photoshop skills, etc). Look at other student books for inspiration. It's important to have a strong concept (the big idea) behind every campaign. Side projects are great, try to include one. Doesn't need to be anything crazy. It's actually better if it's unrelated to advertising, design etc. Also, take all the Adobe Creative Suite training you can and get good at designing. Good luck!
Definitely show what you want to do, not what you can do. One word of caution about personal projects, don't put in your photography unless you are truly great at it.
Was just having this discussion w coworkers the other day. Have the types of projects you want to work on in your book. And definitely the types of projects the agency would be looking for. Good luck!
Don't do it dude
@CD1, I believe the turn of phrase she used was "cunt punt." still 🤣 at that one.
Yes!!!! She seems to have dropped off the grid. Too bad.
