What do you say during your annual reviews when your supervisors asks you if you have any goals for the next year?

I try to think of professional development areas that I enjoy but don't have a chance to do often because it's not necessarily in my job description. So with that in mind, last year one of mine was to have a larger hand in event planning. I also try and think of where I want to go in the company of this position is not where I want to stay. I would like to have more of a leadership position and put that I wanted more opportunities to mentor other admin staff. Another was to expand my network and cultivate more professional relationships.

In general, I try and get a little creative. That's not to say that I don't do practical goals as well. My last review I put that I wanted to explore the process of becoming a notary. That also shows that I want to help out the company as a whole, and it lines up with something someone in my position would do. Hope that helps!

Not to jack attention from your post but I had to beg mine to give me a review. I'm aware this place is a dead end and toxic.

Same. Been working for a year. not one review

Throughout your work year you should be looking to see how you are doing and keeping track of what you accomplished and how it is added value. You should also be looking for areas for improvement, there are always ways to improve systems and efficiencies. These areas can then form your goals for the upcoming year. And then of course be looking ahead if you are interested in being promoted, to considering goals that once achieved would help you receive that next promotion

I’ve been an Admin Assistant for 5 years with the last 2 in a government. I have worked hard to get here thinking this is what I wanted. Now that I’m here, making 40k CAD/yr. I feel like I’ve hit a glass ceiling and I’m desperate for more money and responsibilities - my job is way too easy. But not many opportunities for growth. Any suggestions on where to go from here?

Hi all, does anyone know of any recruiters or hiring managers that work in Affirm Inc. I've been applying for a couple of jobs with them . The role I have applied for I know lam a extraordinary fit for
100% and can help the company/ department succeed. I have a good deal of experience with this role and would love to talk to a recruiter or a hiring manager more about this. If anyone
could reach out to me if you have any information on that I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey! I’m new here and would like some input. I’ve been working in a new position for almost 5 months. In that time I’ve witnessed some unethical and lots of unprofessional behavior. I’ve been yelled at and berated by my coworker 3 separate times because of minor errors. I’m ready to quit. There are so many major issues in this company that I don’t know if I want to subject my mental health to this degree of toxicity. I just don’t know how to move forward from here.

I am in the process of finding administrative assistant interns from our local universities. In an effort to make my job opportunity appealing, I am asking everyone in this bowl about an appropriate job title. Is "Administrative Assistant" outdated or unappealing? I certainly don't want to mislead anyone on the job responsibilities, but I do want to avoid any potential negative stereotypes attached to that job title. Are there alternative titles that you find more appropriate for 2022?

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? I know another AA that handles 3+ people but idk if she’s hourly or salary. Any thoughts?
