I don’t necessarily agree with the culture day loophole ACN went with but they did give us an extra one when everyone announced Juneteenth being off a couple years ago

I was (am) fairly close with one of the SMDs who had input into this decision for Accenture.
The decision to do a culture day vs a full holiday was based on the reality that we work when our clients do. Obviously, black employees deserve Juneteenth off, but many of our more conservative clients would absolutely punish us for institutionally taking the holiday.
A culture day allows the firm to maintain coverage against those clients while still allowing those employees who wish to celebrate Juneteenth to do so. Plus, if your client takes the day, you can too, often without using your culture day!
Years back, a firm I was at, didn’t have MLK day. However they gave floating holidays and said can be used for….. and mentioned MLK. This way they addressed it
EY doesn't, because we give the entire week of July 4th and the entire week of Christmas to New Years off.
I'll take 2 full weeks with the entire firm off -- and therefore no guilt/pressure to reply to emails or Teams chats -- over a holiday that's 2ish weeks between two other big holiday weekends (Memorial Day and July 4th).
Think it's an important day to observe, but I like our schedule.

I follow a religion that isn't represented on the calendar... do I wish we had a day off for our biggest holiday? Yes. Would I prefer it at the cost of the week-long Winter Break? No. Do I take the day off because we have unlimited PTO and my *highly inclusive* team understands? You bet.
