Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.
https://ergochair.co/collections/chairs/products/ergonomics-mesh-chair-w-adjustable-headrest-and-armrest?variant=32511617597491
My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.

Might get fired. Promoted this year but been on the bench for over a month. Getting worried
Through background checks after I accept?
My school (top 3 MBA) ran a background check. I do know people who quit jobs before they got into school to travel and do pre-MBA internships, so if you do get let go before your interview, just have a story as to why you left (most employers only disclose when you left, not why). If you get let go after the interview or after you're in, i wouldn't worry - plenty of people quit as soon as they get into school
Hey there p1. Do you see a good FS pipeline?
How would they find out?
Did you already get fired or are you planning on getting fired sometime soon?
No background checks after you accept... as long as you told the truth at that time, you're good. Unlikely to be asked about it between interviews and starting up.
Thanks M1! That's really helpful. I should survive till the interviews
Being 100% honest here, I don't think B school ran a background check on me... top 5 program, graduated a few years back. As far as I understand it, you have to consent to a background check and that has never been a thing in academia. Did I miss something?
It might have changed recently because I have read in several places that schools commission a third party firm to run checks. They basically verify basic details like school grades and job titles
How long have you been on the bench?
In terms of grades, transcripts have been provided through a third party service for some time now, as schools don't seem to want to be bothered with requests. As for the rest, you might be right, I honestly don't know, though it does sound a bit surprising to me.
Literally just got done at a Yale SOM info session and they mentioned their background check
AK1 - Can you elaborate on what they said?
If you get fired after being accepted, no need to let them know proactively, but don't lie if asked. If you tell the truth at any given time, then everything is above board. Only an issue if fired before interviews.
Can't imagine any school reversing an offer because you got fired for performance or regular up or out type stuff after they accepted you. Fired for other things could be an issue (HR issues, etc.)
What M1 said. Just don't lie bc they will find out dates.
That is not fired, that is laid off. Do something valuable in the meantime and all will be fine
