Guys!!! I’m so glad you asked. I had a 6cm
Diastasis at my belly button and a 3 cm above it- none below. My docs when I gave birth told me about a program I should do, but I’m a procrastinator. 4 years later I got fed up and finally did it. 10 mins a day, I MADE time for it, no excuses, 3 weeks later things were beginning to close up, 2 months in, both were GONE. no surgery. The program is called Every Mother. It’s amazing. I can’t recco it enough. Also, they teach you how to get up from different positions, etc. to not contribute to further damage. Basically anyone or any regimen that has you putting outward pressure on your abs - E.G. CRUNCHES!!! is doing more damage and will never allow you to get your core back to where it should be. I preach this shit because my life changed 4 years after giving birth and I was in shock. This is so common, and it’s preventable and repairable and it pisses me off that more people don’t have facts and info about it. Seriously, I wish you good luck!! (Also, I was a C-section with a host of back/spinal issues, and am no stranger to phys therapy. This one was a life changer.) Every-mother.com
THANK YOU!
I tried all kinds of exercise and ultimately got a tummy tuck and had my abs sewn back together. Probably not what you were hoping to hear.
That’s actually what I think I might have to do because it’s genetic :\ Was it very painful and hard to get back to normal life and exercising again? I’m Considering surgery in the future because I love sports and I don’t want to be limited by this issue. It’s way more about my health and ability to get my core restored again than appearance.
It was super easy...compared to childbirth (C-section). :) Glad I did it. I'm not an athlete so I can't speak to that. I do yoga with no issues. I do like that I look better in clothes again, after twins.
Curious why not tips on physiotherapy? Did you already try an women’s health physio?
Because that’s the obvious reply to the post and because I’m temporarily without health insurance unfortunately
