McKinsey & Company I’ve been working at ZS in technology consulting for healthcare clients for 4.5 years now and looking to transition to either McKinsey or BCG.
I’m looking to connect with people who are working or have interviewed here recently to get guidance on the process and how I can prepare for it.

Still in it’s high growth stage IMO - we just hit 400 employees in the Toronto office and will be moving this spring. The culture can vary depending on which arm you’re getting hired for. Slalom Local is more typical consulting (think Accenture) and Slalom Build is very technical and delivery focused (more laid back to attract engineering talent pool)
Salary is definitely on the higher end for Toronto and great work life balance (but you will get your occasional project that is a complete lemon).
Again, hierarchy/structure depends on whether you’re interested in Local or Build but the organization does its best to be pretty flat. The titles at Slalom can be a bit confusing so always ask what the equivalent of that role would be at your typical consulting firm.
What role? In general, it’s typically slightly higher than Big4 and Accenture but definitely not as high as MBB. Office is moving to York and Richmond.
Can you give us numbers or ranges for salaries? Not sure what “on the higher end” really means.
Lowest is Big 4 at 80-100k for new MBAs, highest is MBB at 150k for new MBAs (all base numbers)
At BCG, all Consultants (post-MBA/PhD level) are at the same salary. Starts at $190k CAD in Canada, plus bonus and retirement fund contribution. Benefits are best in class, and worth a lot if you have dependents/children. Not sure about our competitors, but imagine they offer similar. Good luck!
