What is the cooling off period before applying to the same firm like EYP, S&, etc. ? In what cases can you apply again to the same company without waiting for that period?

I applied to an experienced consultant position at Bain and just heard back. Yesterday, I received an invite to a HireVue one-way interview to complete. Today, I received an invite for a coffee chat with a consultant. I’m of course going to do both, but the emails make it seem like they are almost two separate paths/disconnected processes. Have others found it hard to transition from Audit to Financial Analyst? All the recruiters I’m meeting with are telling me I probably won’t get an interview since they’re looking for someone who’s ready to hit the ground running.
It’s discouraging because I’m a fast learner, and from talking to my friends who are Financial Analysts, it doesn’t seem like what we do is so dissimilar.

Not looking for the narrative arc of How I Built This or Masters of Scale. Instead, looking to uncover specific problems faced by companies that tried something new for the first time. What did they not see coming, how did they adapt and measure, etc.

I have one pro bono case that I kept when I left my firm to go in house. It’s a matter completely unrelated to my company and I have malpractice insurance through the nonprofit organization associated with the case. Within my first year of Consulting, really struggling with the hours amongst other things. Spoken to a couple of people internally and the advice is to get on to projects with bigger budgets and therefore bigger teams/more support.
