Looking for a referral to MBB firms - thanks! 🤝
Bain & Company I’m from Italy and will start my master’s degree at Oxbridge this fall. I got my undergrad from a target uni in continental Europe. I want to start my career in consulting, possibly MBB, in London. I know consulting firms tend to hire locally but I’d really like to work in London and that’s also one of the main reasons why I went for the Oxbridge degree. Anyone, who might have some tips, or went through a similar experience? McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group Bain & Company
Bain & Company Is it truly easier to get in a smaller MBB office?
Have heard a lot for different opinions on these. The logic is that it’s easier because there is a lot of supply in cities like NY, Chicago and SF, but the counter argument is that the offices with less supply are also way smaller and have a lot less demand.

Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

As cutthroat as it is, I feel like I've been prepared better than anywhere else the past 3 years out of undergrad. It can suck at times but it is like tough love, it will ultimately make you a better professional.
Have worked at Deloitte, McKinsey, and BCG. I'd say Deloitte is by far the most toxically competitive. McK/BCG folks are highly self-motivated (read insecure) but also very collaborative -- especially at BCG (in my experience)
Source: long ago I worked in portfolio management and had to interact with all those folks.
I think HC is the worst offender. Digital is amazing in contrast
@d1 that's interesting. Perhaps it's specific to region? Perhaps I was one of those on the receiving end of favoritism so I never felt it. I also worked alongside DD on one project. Admittedly limited to one data point but the PPD on that project was a pain in the ass and not very impressive.
Can we not have a competition about which industries are the most cut throat? So interesting how many times that Deloitte was mentioned
I agree. Very very interesting. Certainly helped to give my current struggles some perspective
@Director1, I'm based out of the DC area but on commercial, not federal. I've heard The NYC group is ultra-competitive due to its location in Manhattan / adopting that banking culture
I start at D in January - any tips on landing my first project? And tips on succeeding in said first project? Thanks!
Know/Learn workday I'd assume? @k3
Don't worry about workday unless you're in that practice. Know how and who to smooze with
EY2, any examples?
Nah doubt it. 4 vs 6 years of experience is all the same shit 😜
Agreed with DD1. Met some great ppl along the way
KPMG1, what's the strategy group at KPMG called? How are the salaries,

It's called kpmg strategy..
D6 even more than pwc?
My theory is that the bigger the company, the more cutthroat it will seem.
So is deloitte more cutthroat than MBB?
OP - have a drive ahead of me tonight and will share my thoughts in the AM. Thanks for the context - definitely helpful.
In my experience so far, all of the above is bullshit.
