What is the PTO like at CBIZ, Inc. Looking into a job posting but coming from a company with FTO

2 weeks at the location where I was. Left after 8 months. The benefits were super horrible by public accounting standards.

likehelpful

Less than 2 years with the company is 12 days PTO, 7 sick days. PTO increases up to 20 days if you stay longer but I wouldn’t bother. Not worth it.

like

Based on my own research during job search, CBIZ had one of the lowest number of PTO days. CBIZ was above average in other categories, but not in terms of PTO or benefits. If PTO is what you value most, CBIZ is likely not a good fit.

like

It is really location/practice specific.

Audit or advisory ….?

Let me know if you need a referral to CBIZ Marks Paneth, we get plenty of PTO - feel free to PM

I’ve noticed that HR, when explaining why a candidate didn’t get the job, tend to lean on “You’re great, but we had candidates with more experience in [skill relevant to the job].” I do believe this is true in some cases, but it can’t possibly be for all of them.

HR folks — what feedback have you obscured by offering that line instead?

What’s the symbol that you can type in a cell so you can input a text, but that text would not appear in the spreadsheet? I want to describe the formula without using a text box, which uses more space.

The equivalent of this is in SQL, you can use the apostrophe in the beginning of and end of a text. That text will not affect the function of the query, but that text can be seen if you proofread the query.

I have two job offers from start-up companies:

Option 1 - well known fintech company and about to go IPO. Will be doing corporate tax. Probably will turn into hybrid of WFH/coming into the office.

Option 2 - series A (been around about 3 years). Tax operation with high possibility of being exposed to other areas in accounting and finance of the company. Fully remote.

Compensation from both companies are the same. I would appreciate some advice on which option would you choose and why.
