So you’ll be expected to go back to work on Friday, January 3 for just one day? I mean it’s nice to have that long of a break but I don’t know why they wouldn’t just give you to the sixth to come back but OK. We’re actually not getting all that much time we work half a day on Christmas Eve Christmas Day off back on the 26th and then the same repeats for the following week for the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day shifts so I do wish I had your Schedule

20th to 5th Jan 🥹 that being said I’m in UK. We just get more holidays here

like

21st to the 4th for us.

That sounds nice! We just get major federal holidays off.

Just the 25th and the 1st. But I'm taking the 19th through the 3rd off.

Official holiday shut down is 12/23/24 to 01/01/25.

I am taking PTO on either end of that shut down to get a bit of a longer break.

Shutdown days? lol. J/k. Our facility is 24/7 but I do know most places get that week off. I'm taking the week of Christmas off to align with my family's vacation days.

Yes

we get Christmas day off

So technical days closed are the 25th and the 1st. You could say break has started this week and will probably last until the second week of January. Nothing is really happening or being expected to happen so not too pressed to take time off, although last year we were crazy busy at the end of the year.

It is the same for us at our place of work too. I love the shut down as my husband is still working so I get a nice time to relax and get projects done around the house.

none .. I get Xmas Day and New Year's Day holidays, but everyone else is on vacation, so I volunteered to stay

My official shutdown is on the 20th December until the 3rd of January 2025, it give more days to rest.

We get from Saturday 20th Dec 2024 till Sat 4th of Jan 2025 off as out Christmas break/shutdown days. HSE Manager.

The only holidays off are the 25th and 1st, but we have open leave. Vast majority of salaried folks will be off from 20th thru Jan 6th.

I might go into the office for 1 day here and there to escape the chaos that is post-Xmas children hyper on gifts and use the peace and quiet of the office to blast some tunes and get some models/dwgs done.

Yes. When time and priorities allow for it. Unfortunately I do t get to do muchZ

For my company, some sections break from 24th -26th and comes back 27th-28th,
And break again from 29th-2nd, and start work on 3rd January.
Some sections too per the nature of our work, work through out the Christmas.

We just get 24th, 25th, 1st

christmas and new years day off only.

The holiday weeks is when all the work gets done

No we don't have a shutdown, Christmas is one of our busiest times as passenger numbers are quite we can shut down the trains and do major engineering works.
