The schedule I have now, I absolutely love. I work 11 AM to 7 PM, and I absolutely love it. I only work Monday through Friday, so I have weekends off. I love not having to get up early in the morning.
Not even then. I worked a rotating shift for years and 10-6 or 11-7 were the worst. Not just Dr appts, but you can't access anything with those hours unless you live across the street from your job
I'm working overnight 6p-6a but we work 3 days on, 7 days off. I love it because you can get so much done with a whole week off. I travel when I'm off

For 2 years, I worked the overnight shift at a 24-hour pharmacy. It was 10 PM to 8 AM, 7 days on, 7 days off. It was great for traveling. I did a lot of traveling as well, but that is so hard on your body. Because if you don't get enough sleep, that adds up, and I just felt awful most of the time. So that's not for me, but it was a good schedule for traveling.
Day shift. Monday through Friday. I have done my time working jobs that required weekends and holidays.
I like to work on weekends
Weekdays the earlier start the better. 6:30-3 or 7:00-:3:30 is my favorite.
My favorite schedule is 7-3 or earlier-if it’s a M-F work week. In a perfect weekly schedule, I’d do 4 10hr weekday shifts and have 3 day weekends
I work 100% remotely on my own schedule. I've gotten away from healthcare and work in finance. As long as my work gets done, it does not matter what time or where I do it. I have just renewed my passport in anticipation of spring travel. The schedule I prefer most often is early mornings at 5 or 6 am until 10 am or a little after noon during the week.
How do I get me a job like that, I have been a Pharmacist for 25 years retail and I am burned out.
i perfer monday - thursday and every other weekend 7am-3pm
I love the 8am - 3pm shift and the 11pm - 7am shift. It give me the afternoon to stay with my kids when they get back from school. Mornings, they are in the school, when I go for the night shift, they are asleep. We see in the morning, chit chat before they jump out. Then we have our afternoon to ourselves .
I would say refer working 4 days a week Monday through Thursday 10-12 hours shifts that way I have 3 days off and one isa business day to get business stuff done
I used to think I wanted a 4 day workweek, but found the days too long mon-thurs (my job is in psych so can be mentally draining)
-So I work mon-thurs til 4 and then off early on Fridays around 2. I really like this because I can have dinners with hubs and still have an early start to the weekend (if I don't have too many notes to dictate.)
But I am lucky that I work from home and don't have to commute anymore.
The schedule I have now where I have Friday and Saturday off and then work Sun - Thurs. I get to schedule all my appointments on Friday and still enjoy the weekend vibes of Saturday and I no longer feel the 'Sunday Scaries' - Another close favorite of mine is when I worked a 7on/7off schedule which entailed me working 7 days straight and 12 hours each day but getting 7 days off. The downside was feeling burnout quickly and spending my days off sleeping only.

Thank you to everyone who has commented on their preferred shift. It gives me a lot of different perspectives, and I think I would like an early shift that I'm used to. If I started at 6 or 7 AM, then your day would be over early. You get stuff done. And then, if you just work Monday through Friday, you'd have your weekends off too. That would be a pretty good schedule, I think.
7am-330pm
Before I had kids, I preferred the night shift, any day. No bosses around breathing down your neck, and you can get a lot of work down more efficiently without having to jump through hoops of stupid crap that doesn’t matter. It’s also a lot more fun if you have a good group of coworkers too. Now that I have a family working M-F earlier so I’m off close to 3 is the best.
The 7 am to 330 is my ideal shift
My current job is my best schedule ever! I work Monday through Friday 730 am to 330 pm. No mandatory weekends. All major holidays off with pay. I love it!
7a-5p Mon-Thursday. It’s my favorite so far.
3 days 12 hours a week with a open schedule. Basically what I have right now
Monday through Friday is the better of the two, although it has drawbacks with both, as you said. I like being on a mostly normal schedule with my family. Having to work all weekend and then them being gone through the week, never got to see anyone.
