The perk most people are looking for these days is a paycheck.
Retirement match rate above 6% immediately increases my interest in a company or job.
My current company does the full 6%, but I agree with you. I’ve been interviewing off and on since I started working in tech 4 years ago because I believe it’s important to keep those skills sharp. But everywhere I’ve landed interviews have 3-5% matches which are honestly underwhelming. I sometimes see threads on Reddit, Blind, and here of people posting their companies have 10-15% match rates and that floors me haha. I wish I could find one of those unicorns
