Received offer for product management from prestigious non profit tech company; but the pay is quite low. I’m pivoting from consulting and want to break into PM but is it worth it for the low salary?
How to justify your salary expectations?
I want to become an art director with zero design skills. I’m going to have someone else comp everything up for me. The ideas might be solid. Who wants to hire me?
Before accepting offer Check few things like Connect to social media contacts of the company you join and understand work culture. Do some research on division you are joining, it's market growth and prospects. Understand the value and contribution of your division that you are joining. Competition of the products and services your are about to handle. Take home salary and Deductions are explained transperently. Your grade in which you are appointed and level above to understand growth.
Was invited to apply for a lateral in another group at my company - transactional (I’m in lit now). I have a lot of experience in what I do now and am getting good development opportunities within my group. However, I’ve been passed over for a deserved promotion 3 times and am doing work two salary bands above where I am now. I enjoy the transactional work even though I have less experience in it, and it would be a great resume builder. I am not great with risk taking/change. Wwyd?
It's out, Deloitte fishies! Go to ToD then click on Compensation Statement to see merit/promotion increases and bonuses! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
EY folks - what is your salary range in NYC area for experienced management consultants ?
We have sales people in Canada and the US, the Canadians make 150K CAD and down here it’s 150K USD, the Canadians argue they should be making 30% more than the US colleagues to be equal bc of the exchange! I explain the salary is dependent on the market data for them in Canada, WHERE THEY LIVE, and you can’t compare it to the US employees and the market data down here. Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?
What are the chances that D-USI will match the salary? Got 40% hike +JB from outside post promotion from C- SC in June SAP Yoe-6 post Tier-2 MBA
What’s the best way to get started freelancing? Just update my LinkedIn and start reaching out to recruiters? How did you figure out your day rate/hourly?
Assuming that people try to get into consulting early in their careers because of the year on year salary growth (partnership is harder to quantify) compared to industry (CONTINUED)
Has anyone here used a service to help you find a new job? I’m looking at one where they source and apply for jobs for me. They’ll also help me rework my resume, LinkedIn, and other materials, as well as interview coaching. I’ve been looking for a new position on my own with no luck for the past 6 months. The downside of this service is they charge a commission based on the salary for the job they place you in. Thoughts or advice?
Portfolio operations in LMM PE or $500AUM VC? Have offers to both and comp is similar enough. PE firm is established in its industry and VC is just growing.
Lady SAs and Managers, PwC FS comp thread. Gents feel free to comment. I want to check if ladies are achieving parity.
What would you say is the average salary for someone in tech consulting in Chicago with just under 3 years consulting experience?
Switching consulting agencies atm. Currently I earn way below average at 42k€/p.a + car. Next week I am negotiating with another company wanting to employ me. I am actually bringing in a customer with a fixed 2 year project @ 1000€ all-in/day rate (5 billable days/week). What salary should I aim for - and what bonuses? I would love something around the market average of 65-75k is it realistic even though I am in my mid 20s?
What's the approximate salary and TC for a Sr. Program Manager at Amazon? Does it vary by department or location?
Interviewing at a Series B startup based in San Fran. BizOps role. 3 YOE. What should I expect from a salary and TC perspective?
How flexible are pre-manager folks at Strategy& to not travel/be local or minimally travel?
TSA pre check at ORD T3 - splitting your line into a large one and a small one to get your ID checked does not speed up the process, and only slows down the process for the large one
I never thought I’d be posting something like this here, but here we are so I must be desperate. I feel more lonely in my relationship than I did before it. My SO is great, but whenever he goes out I feel so crushingly alone. Can’t tell whether it’s COVID or a serious issue.
I’m 25 year old and work directly with a 45 year old man on my project. I am the direct contact for the client and he’s the architect but he is constantly mansplaining things to me/ telling me cont...
Hello! Sorry I have no idea how this work but I have a cousin that lives in another country and she is an accounting major and very smart. How can pwc offer her an internship/ job? Is that possible?
I accepted a new job, they said PTO was “generous.” I find out it’s 19 days a year of PTO (which includes sick days). I have two young children and we like to vacation 1-2x a year (no more than a few days away each time). Am I crazy that this is pretty limited time off? 8 of the normal holidays off during the year (working the week between Christmas and NYE). Thoughts? I dont know if lack of PTO is a good reason to back out, is it?
If you truly were in love with another person but were married with a kid and did love and care for your wife- what would you do? The other person is a life long crush/love and have always had a special connection.
What's the PwC rate code for Marriott? 🙋♂️
For those of you who have been recently let go, here’s one they don’t want you to know. In most cases; if you worked in multiple cities you can claim unemployment benefits from each of those states. Same amount of paperwork when filing but it’s worthwhile 🥃
New grad here! Do you recommend enrolling in FSA? I like the idea but worried that there may be complications involved with the process of using FSA for reimbursement. What are your experiences with it, and anything troublesome that I should be aware of? Could I change the amount any time like the commuter program or is it more based upon new hire/qualifying event?
This girl is the same age as me, makes over double what I do and went to a state school and majored in gender studies. So much for working hard in school and getting an in demand STEM degree 😅 FAANG or bust. https://youtu.be/KrB9iSd38LA
I took a new role in a digital transformation (IT consulting) boutique and I'm beyond confused on my first project. They know i do not understand this stuff, but aside from looking at these slides and google searching literally every client data request document, what can I do?
What’s culture and WLB like in Google Strategy and Ops? I see most are former MBB, and I’m curious if they continue to carry the expectation of long hours and availability after-hours.
Anyone familiar with the airline reporting corporation? I know of someone with an interview there and trying to gauge what that may be like/what the company is like?
Talking to a guy I met a while ago. Only have hung out once before to hook up. A year later he makes a reappearance. I’m taking it slow bc covid and bc I don’t want a one timer w him again. We did a couple FaceTime calls then went for a walk. He texted tonight asking to come over for wine. I jokingly asked if he was sure bc I didn’t see him for a year last time we did that. Dodged it this time, but how do you ladies hold off on sex? Not looking to have a sit down talk tho
I think the stock market is going to crash any day. Should I have my 401k and index funds moved from high risk to low risk allocations or should I just ride the crash and not time the market?
Any designers work for video game companies (EA, TTWO, etc.. ), I understand it's a totally different industry, but how did you get there, how's the culture/work?
Hi guys, I have a somewhat different question this time. Background: I have >8YOE and earn >100k€ in Europe and have been doing a Masters in Management next to working full time; and I'm almost done; However I failed an exam thrice (each time on the exam date I had important projects to run) now I need to find an MBA/MSC programme where I can transfer a lot of my already earned credits, any ideas here guys? Or should I just leave it- It was basically the last exam before starting my thesis..
