What should Black professionals in this industry be doing to prepare for ’47? I know it’s already happened, but this shift feels darker. I have goals to secure a senior-level position in the next few years. I’d love to be in a position to reach back and help others when I get there.

I have an experience of 6 years in Production and Application Support. I have worked as middleware administrator as well for Jboss and Weblogic.
But due to the diminishing demands of the role in IT industry , I am planning to switch my career in Devops or AWS which would help me grow.
But I am not sure without any practical knowledge, will I get a job at this many years of experience in a different profile.

Started a new job a year ago, high performer. My manager suggested a promotion to Product Manager since that‘s the work I’m doing, but that would be a 50% raise. Higher ups decided instead to make a “new role” (not PM), that has no analog in the company and is hard to price via Glassdoor, etc. I feel like this is to limit my promotion salary to something like 10% from where it currently is. Currently a staff in audit - 6 months in. Glad to be learning a lot, and have had a generally positive experience at the firm other than a few interactions, some tough busy season nights. Really been intrigued by TAS/M&A, however, and had a few convos with a senior in TAS i know at the firm. It’s closer to what I studied, but don’t know how to make the jump as it seems an internal transfer could take 6+months/senior rank and a lot of convincing. Is it better to jump firms/has anyone done this?

LMAO what do Afro Latinos look like? I just asked a creative to include more pictures of Afro-Latinos in our hispanic messaging and she said "I tried to find pictures of videos that looked authentic but they didn't have the right look, it's a very specific look". So no black people in the ad cause this white passing lady needs to gate keep who looks latina enough. The blond, blue eyed women in the photos passed though... UGHH.
