What should I reasonably expect, compensation wise, as a manager at RSM? Anyone recently hired negotiate a sign on bonus? Dallas, Tx area.

Varies quite a bit based on LOB but seems new hires are able to demand more than existing managers in this crazy market. I’ve heard new hire experienced consulting managers in MCOL areas coming in over $160k. At that rate, expect some tough negotiations but it can be done. Just know that if you negotiate a high-end salary range your looking at low raises (unless significant future market adjustments) until you make Director.

My partner and I are moving out of our condo building in NYC at month end, and the building management (not our landlord) has communicated to us that, on top of the 1K non-refundable fee and 1K security deposit to move out (stated in lease), they are also issuing a $1,250 "sanitization fee" for the public areas (hallways/elevators), since we happen to be moving out during COVID19. We feel this is taking advantage of tenants during this time and may not be legal. Any advice helps!

What is the most controversial strategy you've heard or think to end the Ukraine/Russia war?

I'll go first: Stop helping Ukraine, let Russia go bankrupt trying to prop up a phony government while US makes big gains in NATO spending more on weapons. Divert the money going to Ukraine to instead go to R&D make US more cutting edge.

US should not distract away from Asia Pacific. The pieces are in place in EU for the US to benefit already no matter what. And no, no nukes will happen guys...

I was offered a contractor role (~20 hours a week) at 90/hour. This is extremely attractive because it’ll double my income (and the tax deductions from 1099 are solid). With that being said, I also want to see what kind of conflicts I can see given that I’m at a B4 firm.
