High school special class (self-contained) teachers: What do you use for planning? I’ve always been an inclusive teacher, so I followed the plan book of my co-teacher. I can’t even decide if I should go digital or paper-based let alone make a final decision! I’ll be teaching 9-11th grade math and 11th grade science. The 11th grade classes I can very much do whatever I (or the student) want/need…there isn’t a set curriculum

What's the biggest life lesson joining the military taught you?

I generally have a few lessons in which I can use Pixar shorts to teach students how to identify and discuss literary signposts, how to identify and explain the development of theme, character traits, and other narrative elements. What are some of your favorite shorts? To all the post-9/11 veterans, it’s a somber day that unites us all in the reason we fought. It’s easy to forget - especially with the younger generation having 9/11 be a history lesson rather than something they lived through.
