What would you say is the shortest acceptable (wouldn’t raise questions) tenure in tech?

Any experienced senior managers that have moved between Big 4 firms? Can you speak towards your experience, any struggles, and opportunities in terms of partner promotion? Frankly, EY path to partner seems to be too clouded (long pipeline, no clear direction/path, uncertainty on promotion cycles, etc.) at the moment and I would like to visit all options. Appreciate the input.

Anyone who has/ heard of fbookers who successfully switched roles and gotten a promotion (L3 to L4)? Context I am planning a switch from analyst to data scientist from a non US location to US. However, L4 is needed for this jump (prob due to visa issues). With the current revamp in PSC cycle, I am not sure if I can successfully get promoted by next year and make the jump. To do so, I heard there needs to be 2 EE (for this half and next half). YOE 5, BASE 100K

I’m a Project Manager making 90k. Recently, I helped a few friends get hired into the company I work for and they were both started at 10-15k higher than I am currently. One has a few more years of experience but the rest have the same level of experience as I do - in fact, we come from similar backgrounds in terms of roles and companies. Should I bring this up with my boss during pay raise discussions? I feel it’s unfair that people are being brought in at a much higher amount.

Is there a way to bypass the promotion policy of not being able to apply for jobs in 2 or more levels above your current level? Especially, if one joined the company at lowest level with over 8 years experience? Reason was, I took a career break for 6 years and to maximise my chance of getting back into the industry, I applied for a role I was almost guaranteed to get. I've only been at my company for 9 months. Is it too soon to request a raise? I'm at a point in my career where I'm actively being recruited by people I've worked with previously. I got the job I'm in now through a referral, and have since had two former colleagues reach out and offer a significant increase in salary if I come work with them. I finished my master's degree in December and have done really well in my role, but it's hard to feel satisfied knowing I could be making a lot more.

Role scope will be both SOX & Operations, will this be a good path to Controller/CFO? Hi UK Fish, going into a promotion (from C to SC) and raise discussion tomorrow at a boutique consulting firm. Currently at 62.5k. Bonus was up to 10% but all I got was a measly 2%, slow pipeline maybe but I wasn't told why (will raise tomorrow). A recent acquisition has resulted in losing our annual xmas week off and a learning budget of 1k. I know for a fact that last year they were looking to hire SCs at 70k. Is a base raise to 75k a fair ask?
