If you can, go into the store or pharmacy before you apply and try to observe how the people working their seem enthusiasm/energy wise. From my experience, if everyone in the pharmacy looks miserable (and it's not incredibly busy) there's usually a reason why. Especially in retail pharmacy you can run into bad or toxic pharmacy managers.
I agree with the comment above. I would definitely recommend going there before and seeing how people interact with one another. You can usually get a sense for whether or not it is a good working environment and what the culture is like.
Also, ask the employees how long they’ve worked for the company and how long the “newest” employee, for lack of a better term, how long that person has been employed. You should be able to get an idea of turnover. If it’s high, that’s a red flag.
I would ask if they have scheduled breaks and avoid pharmacies with drive thru.
avoid chainstores they all read from the same play book!!
